THINK BIG PLANET

The world is full of fascinating things to see and learn, often leading to the question of “why?” Whether it be a complicated question, or if the question just popped into your mind that you were curious about, in each episode we will explore the answers together.

Ep1: Why Do We Have a Belly Button?

Have you ever looked at your belly and wondered why you have one? Why is it there? Where does it come from? Why do they all look different? On today’s episode of Think Big Planet, we’ll try to help answer these questions and take a quick look at how people come to get their belly buttons.

EP2: Why Can't We Jump Around the World?

Today we check in on one of our little geniuses who happens to be waiting for her flight at the airport. It looks like a plane is about to take off! Does the airplane push through the air to move forward, or since the earth spins so fast, does the plane simply need to get into the air and the earth will spin under it? If the latter is happening, why can’t we just jump our way around the world and let the Earth’s spinning do the work for us. With a simple hop, skip and a jump we could be relaxing on a sunny beach almost instantly! On today’s episode of Think Big Planet, we’ll try to help answer these questions and take a quick look at Newton's Laws of Motion, as well as how our bodies percieve movement.

EP3: where did the continents come from?

Today we check in on one of our little geniuses to admire how beautiful our Earth is. With around 71% covered by water, the land that rises up in between stands out vibrantly on the stark, deep blue depths of the oceans and seas. The land that we can see are called continents! The Earth contains 7 continents, that being: North Amercia, South Amercia, Afrcia, Europe, Asia, Australia and lastly the icy tundra of Antarctica. Now, you may be asking yourself: where did these continents come from? Have we always had this many continents? On today’s episode of Think Big Planet, we will take a step back in time to figure out these questions today!

EP4: Why Should We Wash Our Hands with Soap and Water?

Take a look at your hands. We use them constantly each and every day without thinking about them. Even though you cannot see it, your hands are covered with thousands of microorganisms! You might ask yourself, what is the best way to wash our hands? Can I just wash with water? How long should I wash my hands? How comprehensive are we washing every area of our hands? On today’s episode of Think Big Planet, we will discuss proper hand washing techniques and how to keep ourselves safe and healthy.
